PAUL SNOWDEN IS THE BEST DESIGNER IN THE WORLD

The Berlin fine art printers "gallery print" planned on putting out a calendar, and I was invited to participate. Of course, I had some conditions. Being the best star sign of all - a Pisces - I insisted on doing February. Someone bowed in or got kicked out. It was go time for Paul.

My page read "tuesday is the best day of the week, february is the best month of the year, paul snowden is the best designer in the world" set in Helvetica inserat - white on black. I loved the idea that confronted everyone with the outrageous claim for a whole month of a year. And hey, Tuesday is also my favourite day.

I love graphic design. I actually like my job. But I love Hip Hop even more. I love the balls of Hip Hop, up on the stage shouting I am the greatest. I wanted to make graphic design more hip hop. I wanted to simply claim, I am the greatest. Never in my right mind do I actually believe it. I just wanted to be the first in the world to claim I am the greatest designer in the world. So I did.

But the calendar reached only a handful of people. It wasn't enough. I blasted the city with the more streamlined "paul snowden is the best designer in the world" posters. They certainly got noticed. But how many follow up awesome design jobs did I get after claiming I am the greatest, I hear you ask. You already guessed correctly, the answer is zero.
